The balmy weather last week arrived just in time for the swimsuits and spring fashions at the annual Junior League of San Francisco Fashion Show. The models turned up the heat at the Fairmont as they strutted their stuff in bikinis, ball gowns and everything in between.
Chairs Patrice Pisinski and Regan Cinelli provide a series of wonderful lunches and dinners for the event, which was themed "Journey through Fashion and Philanthropy" with the added twist of a live auction with celebrity auctioneers. Thursday night's Bistro Dinner featured Gavin Newsom who came out swinging, literally in this case as he was wielding a bat. The bat was signed by members of the Giants. Friday night's black tie event had Cheech Marin auctioning off great trips (not the kind of trips he took from his Cheech and Chong days, though). Cheryl Popp also helped draw the winning raffle tickets (Claire Hanafee won a trip to Chicago – she and fiancé Mark will wait until it warms up a bit).
Model trainer Jimmy Grimme prepped the models to walk like pros, including Sandra Farris, Deborah Leylegian and Barbara Mulcare. Jen Shepherd definitely worked it on the catwalk.
The show also celebrated a special anniversary … a 15-year relationship with Macys, so all 15 of the previous fashion show chairs climbed on stage and modeled Jessica McClintock gowns, including Gail de Martini, Jane Inch and Usha Burns.
Of course, all of the models had their own personal cheering sections. Several attending the Bistro Dinner were Rebecca Saroyan, Sue Dentinger, Liz Larned, Sue Kubly, Kerri Zaldistani, Lori Beringer, Claudia Rohal, Debbie Reynolds and Veronica Verzosa.
Friday night's crowd included Erin Donnelly and Tom Furtney, Randy and Belinda Steyer, Sharon Bricker and her handsome beau Neil, Marie Kluth in a blue Vera Wang gown and Natasha Wazzan.
